Carrie may have grown up on a farm in southern Minnesota, but her imagination was always running far beyond the cornfields. While other kids were riding tractors, she was sketching outfits, rearranging her bedroom (again), and flipping through fashion magazines like they were treasure maps. Her flair for style and design wasn’t just a childhood whim—it was a calling.
Today, as the founder of E&Co., Carrie channels that same creative spark into every project she touches. With over 16 years as the design director at a leading interiors firm, she brings boutique-level expertise and big-picture vision to the table. Her approach is part instinct, part experience, and all heart—earning her a reputation as both a trusted collaborator and a quiet force in the design world.
Carrie’s curiosity is insatiable. She’s always on the lookout for what’s next—whether she’s exploring a tucked-away market in Paris, flipping through vintage Vogue, or wandering a local gallery. Autumn approaches every project as a chance to blend worldly inspiration with personal meaning—turning houses into soulful, story-rich homes. As Co-Owner of Ellington & Co. Design, she brings both curiosity and craftsmanship to everything she touches. With a degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute International of Minnesota and an NCIDQ certification to her name, she blends technical precision with a worldly design sensibility.
Much of Autumn’s perspective is shaped by the world beyond her doorstep. From the aged stone of European villages to the bold colors and organic textures of Mexican interiors, she’s endlessly inspired by global architecture, natural materials, and the way different cultures shape the spaces they live in. Travel isn’t just a passion—it’s a lens through which she sees possibility, pattern, and purpose.
Autumn’s work spans everything from cozy primary residences to serene vacation retreats. She approaches each project as a unique story waiting to be told—blending beauty with practicality, and weaving in thoughtful details that reflect her clients’ lifestyles and dreams. Every home she designs is carefully crafted to feel authentic, comfortable, and effortlessly stylish.

While her role at Ellington & Co. blends both business and design, Jodie’s roots are firmly planted in the creative world. Her love for interiors began in childhood—dreaming up spaces with her sister and flipping through her mom’s decorating magazines.
That spark led Jodie to study Art History at Dartmouth and later pursue formal training at the New York School of Interior Design.
She’s always believed that beauty thrives in order. Organization is her happy place—from a well-edited closet to a streamlined product schedule. At Ellington & Co, she brings structure to creativity, ensuring ideas become realities with clarity, precision, and joy.
From New York to Chicago to Minneapolis, Jodie’s journey has shown her that great design is about connection. Supporting clients and the team in bringing vision to life—and watching those spaces uplift the people who live in them—is what inspires her every day.

Our History
Carrie and Autumn’s journey began in 2003 when they first crossed paths at a prominent design firm. Over the years, their mutual passion for bold, innovative design and their talent for balancing creativity with practicality forged a lasting professional bond. In 2013, Autumn took the leap to strike out on her own, followed by Carrie in 2018, when she founded Ellington & Co. Though their paths diverged, their connection remained strong, with frequent collaborations and the sharing of ideas, continuing to shape their dynamic approach to design.
After 2020, Carrie and Autumn began collaborating more intensively, discovering the limitless potential of their combined vision. By joining forces, they founded a firm where creativity is unrestrained, and every inspiration—whether drawn from across the globe or from personal experiences—finds its place in their designs. With a shared belief that everything is better when done together, Carrie and Autumn are redefining interior design through Ellington & Co., a firm fueled by free thought, collaboration, and an unwavering passion for the extraordinary.
